Don't Breathe This In

A video I enjoy watching is Will it Blend. This videos are to display the power of the Blender created by Blendtec. Some of the things they blend are hard, other are easy. One of the cool things they blended was glock sticks, it was like a lantern it was so bright. He has a line that he says after everything he blends and opens the blender so smoke or dust comes out and he says, "Don't breathe this in." Here are some of the cooler videos.

Blogs

Darren's most recent blog was about "one of the most fascinating things ever, Paperbags." He told the stories of paperbags and how they help us carry around things. Another blog I thought was interesting was Renzo's which was about doomswheels. Doomwheels is a sport which involves a kite and wheels attached to your feet. While doing this people have gotten up to fifty miles per hour, this sport got popular doing the 1990's. Tj's blog was about something that alot of young people are into, video games and their graphics. He thought that they were "the most important thing while buying a game." He also said that "I can say that aleast 3 people in my 5th period class play video games on the computer and don't do there work in class!" I will leave you to decide who those three people are. Fuads blog was about the Giants game in Philadelphia. "Sadly the giants lost 8-5." Barry Bonds homered again bringing his homerun count up to 744. Angelinas post was about a cheerleading websites that not only helps the cheerleaders but the coaches as well.

Emotional Mapping

Christian Nold gave volunteers the thing that is used on lie detector. He asked them to walk around the city and when they returned he asked them what they saw and how they felt when their blood pressure raised or when their heartbeat quickened. One responded to someone stomping on a pigeon, another a house that reminded them of flowers at a funeral, and another that saw a security guard passing out candy to little kids thinking that he wanted one. By doing this is mapping how the surroundings effect peoples emotion, hence the name emotional mapping. I think this is a good idea because some people may want to go on vacation at places but if they see that it causes weird emotion`s maybe they won't go there.

Earth Day is a day when you are supposed to not do things that your normally do such as walk instead of drive, or use public transit instead of a car. You should do these things because you may think it doesnt effect you but it will effect the enviornment and future generations.

iTunes Podcast

At first I felt that the iTunes podcast system was too confusing. It seemed like almost every podcast I clicked on was a few years old. I clicked on one about world news and they were talking about 9/11. After i figured out how to find the recent podcasts, it got a lot better. I wanted to hear about world news but it was hard to find some without having to buy them. With this experience i felt that the podcast system, www.podomatic.com, was much easier to navigate through but loaded a lot slower. I think podcasts are a good way to relay information and I am going to keep looking at them.

Family Blog

My idea of what a family can be is your family, not just your immediate family, but your families’ parents, and all their children and all of your aunts and uncle’s children’s children. My friends to me are family as well; if I’m not with my family I am hanging out with my friends and having fun. My family is fun and energetic, they always make me laugh and never get boring, and this is probably where I get my personality from. My family circle includes not only people of my same race/religion but people of other ethnicities and ages. In the quote "Families evolve from a patchwork of possibilities" I think it means families are things that protect you and evolve from ideas of the new generations of the family.

Fuzzy Wuzzy

Fuzzy Logic is a way that computers copy the way that humans think and solve problems. Instead of only have a few alternatives for something, Fuzzy Logic uses rules based on experiences, which is what the human brain does as well. Fuzzy is a lot cheaper to produce and has a wider range of choices that it can make. The first person to come up with the idea of fuzzy was someone who worked at the University of California at Berkeley. Then Japan took on the idea and China soon after, both this countries made many of these smart machines. After reading this article I’m a little scared because these machines may smarten up and figure out that they don’t need us and attack us, just like in the Terminator’s 1-3.

My family

My idea of what a family should be is people that you enjoy being with, people who care for you and know what is best for you, who know when your down and how to get you back up. People you can trust that will always be there for you. People who are in my family circle are my close friends and my mom, dad, brother, and sister. My family is fun and exicting, happy at times, sad at others. To me the quote "Families evolve from a patchwork of possibilities" means that familes may have different opinions about things but they are still united and have learned from one another.

Done at last

I thought our presentation wasn't as good as i hoped it to be. The videos that we had didn't work because we didn't have the videos in the same spot on the computer out in the other room as we did in this room, but we got them to work after about five minutes. Also, the powerpoint very slow because there was a lot of excess windows open so it was lagging the computer. Compared to the other projects of our other classmates, I felt ours wasn't as long but had the same amount of information. If we would have done a iMovie on our topic I feel we would have done better because it would have been easier to show our information and examples while we were talking. All in all I liked this project because it was fun finding out the information and we used powerpoint which i enjoy using.

MultiMedia

My partener for my project is going to be Renzo Santillan. The purpose of our project is to find out what our friends and others think is the best skateboarding spot in the Bay Area. We changed our mind from doing an iMovie to doing a powerpoint because we didn't have access to a computer that had iMovie. In the slides we are going to show the results of our surveys and pictures of the person we are interviewing. Over the break we gave more of our friends the survey and went to the skate spots to see if everyone could skate there and the age/cultural diversity of the people skating those spots. Difficulties we faced were were on also most of our friends were on vacation so we couldn't film them and the camera we were planning on using didn't work in iMovie and we couldn't get a different camera to use. Also, finding a good date to do these things such as visit the park was hard because it was Spring Break and we were doing other things with our family and such.
Points of contention we might face is that people who live in different parts of the Bay Area might not be able to get to these spots over in the West Bay so they may disagree and say that there spots in the East Bay are better to skate. Also, some people who do live in the West Bay may have skated these spots but didn't like them so they say this spot was bad and disagree with us.

2nd Step

We want our project to be about the various skate spots around the Bay Area and which ones are the peoples favorites and least favorite that we are interviewing. We want it to look like a good, well thought out iMovie. We want to take pictures of our friends skating and record them being interviewed on their favorite skate spot and import it into iMovie. During the interview we are going to ask them questions about their skating carees such as how long they have been skating, what's their favorites skate spot, what attracts them to this spot, and whather the cops bother them there. We will make music that goes along with the movie in Garageband. Also, we will take pictures of the spot and show exactly why they love this spot. We are going to interview a few of our good friends. We made a survey of these questions and are planning to ask them on the weekend when we are skating together. We are also going to ask them why they don't like other spots compared to that one. We have already made the survey and what we are going to say and which pictures we are going to have pop up when we are interviewing them. Also, we are going to film them skating the spot and them interacting with the enviornment. We are going to search on the internet what the other skaters around the Bay Area think of other skate spots around town.

Project Brainstorm

For our project my partner and I decided to use the best Bay Area skate spots as the theme for our topic. We decided that an iMovie presentation would be the best way to do this. We are going to also have a survey interviewing our friends, as well as ourselves, who skate around the Bay Area and are very skilled in this extreme sport. We are going to ask them various questions such as, what attracts them to this spot? do you have to pay? is it available to everyone? and is it possible for every skill level to skate this spot? We will also talk about how this skaters deal with the cops.
